STSA # 52: Way Past March Madness

Hi there. Watching any basketball around your house? Around my house the husband and boys go waaaaaay past madness – punchdrunk on hoops and a seemingly endless buffet of hot wings and cheese popcorn. It’s a whole new level of bugnuts crazy. We need new terms to define the height of madness. Luckily … here are a few new ways to elevate your crazy game …

Bet We Can Get You to Smile Again, Visit Epic Dental!

A few beers short of a six-pack.

A few clowns short of a circus.

A few fries short of a Happy Meal.

About three cents short of a dollar.

Crazy as a bucket of frogs.

Doesn’t have all the dots on the dice.

Doesn’t have both oars in the water.

Doesn’t know which side of the toast the butter is on.

Half a bubble off plumb.

In the shopping mall of the mind, he/she’s in the toy department.

Left the store without all the groceries.

Missing a few buttons on the remote control.

Not enough sandwiches for a picnic.

Oil doesn’t reach the dipstick.

One Fruit short of a loom.

One shingle shy a roof.

One taco short of a combination plate.

Figured I had to end with Taco … we’ve seen more than our share around here scattered amongst the hot wings and cheese popcorn.

STSA # 51: Here’s to St. Patrick’s Day

I’m Irish. This has always been something of a mixed blessing in my family. As a small child, it meant I got hugged and squeezed and pinched. A lot. Irish aunts and uncles are a physical lot. A warm, wonderfully physical lot. Cheers, all! Slainte!”

A man stumbles up to the only other patron in a bar and asks if he could buy him a drink.

“Why of course,” comes the reply.

The first man then asks: “Where are you from?”

“I’m from Ireland,” replies the second man.

The first man responds: “You don’t say, I’m from Ireland too! Let’s have another round to Ireland.”
“Of Course,” replies the second man.

Curious, the first man then asks: “Where in Ireland are you from?”
“Dublin,” comes the reply.
“I can’t believe it,” says the first man.
“I’m from Dublin too! Let’s have another drink to Dublin.”
“Of course,” replies the second man.

Curiosity again strikes and the first man asks:
“What school did you go to?”
“Saint Mary’s,” replies the second man.
“I graduated in ‘62.”

“This is unbelievable!” the first man says.
“I went to Saint Mary’s and I graduated in ‘62, too!”

About that time in comes one of the regulars and sits down at the bar.
“What’s been going on?” he asks the bartender.
“Nothing much,” replies the bartender. “The O’Malley twins are drunk again.”
