STSA # 54: Allergies

Something to Smile About :)

Don’t know about you, but where I live the parade of pollen rains down nearly non-stop. A couple members of the family have no problems playing outside in our beautiful spring weather, but a couple of us sneeze and wheeze and itch and scratch.

Speaking of which, Heather from San Diego sent this to us about a little 4-year-old we can all relate to!

Bet We Can Get You to Smile Again, Visit Epic Dental!

Sally takes her 4-year-old son Billy to see the doctor for a routine physical.

All the way she had to reassure him that he would not be getting a shot. Billy nervously went through his eye exam, hearing test, etc.

The nurse came into the exam room and started to ask Sally some routine questions.

“Is he allergic to anything?” the nurse asked?

Billy stood up and said “YES, I’m allergic to shots!”

Ha! My mom – a retired nurse – used to tell us not to complain before shots or the nurse would switch to dull needles … that hurt more. Meanie …

If your smile, breath, and mouth need a little health and wellness, may I remind you to visit our friends at Epic Dental! They can help freshen your breath and brighten your smile to match the warm, sweet sun of Spring.

STSA # 53: A Ritual of Spring

Something to Smile About :)

Hiya! And no, I’m not talking about allergies as the ritual of spring, though those have taken full hold here. I’m talking about Spring Cleaning – the urge for which starts welling up in me about mid-February. It’s time. Our friend Molly in Tampa, FL, sent me these.

Bet We Can Get You to Smile Again, Visit Epic Dental!

TOP 10 TELL-TALE SIGNS IT’S TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING:

1.Your front door has more fingerprints than the FBI.

2.Your family is eating off paper plates so you don’t have to open the cabinets.

3.The garbage disposal is coughing.

4.You’re afraid to turn on the ceiling fan - fearing a mushroom cloud of dust.

5.The kitty litter is a concrete block.

6.There is something solid and black in the bottom of the coffeepot.

7.You wonder if a hose down would ruin the carpets.

8.Your son looked in the dishwasher yesterday and said, “Look. Plants!”

9.You can’t go outside because fresh air makes you dizzy.

10.It seems easier to move than to clean the house.

Don’t move! Well … in the larger sense. Just a little elbow grease and threats to the children to unplug the tv and computers if they don’t help, and you’ll be done in no time.

Is it also time for some Spring Smile Cleaning? Luckily, our friends at Epic Dental can help freshen your breath and brighten your smile to match the warm, sweet sun of Spring.

A Unicorn in the Land of Blueberries: It’s no secret we’re big fans of teeth humor. This poor girl – fresh off the wisdom teeth anesthetic – picked a friend with a video camera to come pick her up.

Dog and Baby Deer Fight For Ball: Okay, not another anesthetic-induced bit of schadenfreude, this is actually just really cute.

Umm … stay with me … a standing cat: Listen, I’m not trying to do an animal nor hallucinogenic theme today, I swear. Just watched this and it freaked me out, so naturally I thought I’d share it.

Math Teacher and His Shadow: No animals. Just a fun April Fools Joke.
