Hello again. Do you have any spring breakers in your world? We’re taking a big family trip next week to Germany to see our middle son – who’s been on a Rotary International trip since August. Which translates into waaaaay to long for this mom. Speaking of translations, our son has clued us into some translations as we’ve planned this vacation. With summer coming on, I thought you might find them useful.
“Old world charm” really means “Private room but public bathroom.”
“Tropical” really means “It’s going to rain … a lot …”
“Majestic setting” really means “An obscenely long way from town at end of dirt road.”
“Options galore” really means “Bring LOTS of extra cash.”
“Secluded hideaway” really means “You will get lost … a lot …”
“Knowledgeable trip hosts” really means “They’ve driven a car at least once.”
“No extra fees” really means “No extras.”
“Nominal fee” really means “Outrageous charge.”
“Standard” really means “Sub-standard.”
“Deluxe” really means “Standard.”
“Superior accommodations” really means “Private bathroom.”
“All the amenities” really means “Private Bathroom with a shower cap.”
“Gentle breezes” really means “Hang on.”
“Light and airy” really means “No air conditioning.”

Wish us luck! Our oldest daughter speaks a bit of German, but the rest of us will rely on our two oldest kids. We’re also going to be introducing the wonders of Epic Dental to the Rhineland.
Got something that makes you smile? Please, do send it along!
And, here, as always are some sweet links to enjoy.
