STSA: Olympic Sportscaster Lowlights

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 | Filed under Something to Smile About

Hi there! Summer continues its 100-meter dash doesn’t it? We’re getting fired up around here because the Olympics are getting set to start over in China. I remember sitting around with my mom watching both summer and winter – of course, we watched a lot less then … when there were just THREE channels of television. Okay, before I start whining about having to walk six miles to school, here’s our Olympic Themed Something to Smile About. It comes to us from Alex in London (WOW! We’re international!!!)

ACTUAL QUOTES FROM OLYMPIC SPORTSCASTERS:

“And here’s Moses Kiptanui, the 19 year old Kenyan,
who turned 20 a few weeks ago.”

“Its a great advantage to be able to hurdle with both
legs”

“We now have exactly the same situation as we had at the
start of the race, only exactly the opposite.”

“She owes a lot to her parents, especially her mother and father.”

“There have been injuries and deaths in boxing, but none
of them serious.”

“Watch the time. It gives you an indication of how fast they are running.”

“If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again.” (Terry Venables)

And here are some Olympic-worthy links … I hope!

Don’t you think Bob Costas needs to stick to decaf throughout the Olympics?
